Ikon Arts Foundation is pleased to be a media partner for STUFFF Concept Store (STUFFF), a wholesale furniture and design concept store, dedicated to introducing the works of Croatia’s hottest industrial designers to the US marketplace. STUFFF makes its stateside debut during NYC Design Week at Designjunction+Dwell at the Jacob Javits Center in New York from May 13-15.
The brain child of award-winning Croatian designer, curator, and entrepreneur Mirna Morphis, STUFFF was established to showcase the best of contemporary Croatian design, uniting beauty, quality, and function under Morphis’ curatorial vision. “STUFFF is truly a passion project for me; as a Croatian-born designer I wanted to highlight and introduce the incredible creativity and diversity of Croatian design to the US market”, says Morphis. Featuring furniture, lighting, housewares, and accessories not previously available to the US market, STUFFF intends to be a gateway to introduce and engage innovative Croatian designers with the US interior design community.
Highlights of STUFFF’s inaugural collection include: the Lacescape coffee table, which fuses the delicacy of traditional Croatian crochet-work with modern laser-cut steel construction; and the ILI-ILI series of pendant lamps—already available in Europe and Japan and featured in Dezeen, ILI-ILI incorporates modern and fresh color schemes and forms to the pendant category. “What unites all of the Croatian designs that I’ve selected is an emphasis on renewable and recyclable materials and the transformation of traditional, classic design elements into modern, functional pieces”, says Morphis.
In addition to occasional furniture and lighting, STUFFF’s inaugural collection includes home accessories such as the innovative Walligami vertical gardening planter, which incorporates breathable, renewable felt fabric. A thread of thoughtfulness and playfulness comes across in all of the designs featured within the STUFFF portfolio, and is a theme that will set STUFFF apart within the design community.
